If you ever wanted to be part of a hit TV show, it is now easier than ever. NBCUniversal announced today in a press release, that it has debuted the first-of-a-kind Snapchat television partnership called “The Voice on Snapchat.”

The five-episode series can be found on Snapchat Discover every Monday, starting today, and is based on the hit reality musical competition. According to an LA Times article, the partnership highlights Hollywood’s race to seize the attention of young viewers who would rather surf apps than TV channels.

  • Over 20,000 submissions were received in less than 48 hours
  • The series will feature this season’s coaches —Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys — reviewing the user-submitted videos
  • Each week, one coach will select an artist they want representing their team in the “Voice on Snapchat” finale
  • The conclusion takes place on Monday, September 19 when the four participants submit their last performance video
  • First version of an established TV show that created content for Snapchat as opposed to repurposed content
  • Over 100 million people worldwide each month interact with articles and videos from ad-supported publishers in Snapchat’s Discover section

This is not the first time The Voice has engaged fans on Snapchat, and earlier this year Snapchat and NBCUniversal partnered to bring the Olympics to Snapchat users across the globe.
