As a fashion lover and technology enthusiast, I have to admit I was really curious about this years MET Gala, and it’s “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” theme.

With wearable technology becoming more mainstream with the inventions of smart watches such as the Pebble and Apple Watch, I was interested to see how designers would incorporate digital technology into high fashion at this high profile event, and which celebrities would embrace futuristic frocks and to what extent.

Clair Danes literally lit up the night in her Cinderella inspired gown designed by Zac Posen
However, the gown that really seemed to connect with people was the cognitive dress worn by Karolina Kurkova and designed by IBM Watson and Marchesa.  The dress reacted to emotions and changed colours based on content that people posted on social media.
