SOLUTION

With a simple set of VR goggles and mobile app programming ingenuity and expertise, the driving of the Mini Cooper became a virtual reality.  A three dimensional immersive experience with a 360 degree view of the race track placed ‘drivers’ in the seat and behind the wheel of the Mini Cooper.

The VR mobile application was developed with the open source framework React Native. React is used to develop applications for Android, Android TV, iOS, macOS, tvOS, Web, Windows and UWP, and enables developers to use the React framework while leveraging the native platform capabilities of the mobile devices.

SUCCESS

With React cross platform compatibility combined with native platform capabilities the mobile application VR driving experience was designed for both Apple iOS and Android mobile phones. ‘Drivers’ could jump into the seat of the Mini and ‘race’ around the ‘track’ to feel the power and control of the BMW Mini Cooper.
