Update Your Email on Outlook 2007

• Written by: Mike on January 13, 2012

The only thing constant is change itself.  This applies to server configurations and email settings.  Sometimes things change, are you able to keep up?

Updating your email account in Microsoft Office 2007 is not the easiest thing in the world to do, however with these instructions, you should have your mail up and running again in no time.

Open Outlook 2007 and go to Tools \ Account Settings...

Under Account Settings, choose the Email tab, select your email account and click on Change...

Now we can enter in the new email settings

Now you’ll need to click on the More Settings… button, and check the box on the Outgoing Server tab for “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server

Now click on the Advanced tab and check the box that says "This server requires an encrypted connect (SSL)". Incoming server port is 995, and Outgoing server port is 587.

Click Save until you return back to your email.

That's it!
